BEACH CLEAN-UP IN GAYA ISLAND (4th-6th APRIL 2018)

In 2017, from 4th to 6th April, a beach clean-up event had been organized at the Gaya Island Primary School by the Sabah Raleigh Society and joined force by Wildlife Sentinel, Pacos-Trust, Government agency (Queen Elizabeth Hospital,) Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) , Universiti College Sabah Foundation (USCF) and several primary schools in Sabah. The activity was done in several locations around the school and also village area in Gaya Island. This event had given a significant impact among the participants especially on the importance of taking care on the environment. Apart from that, this event has also allowed us to share our passion with the young people in protecting the environment and also the importance of applying the zero waste lifestyle in order to help in reducing the amount of wastes that ended up at the ocean.
